There are many conventions across the country named Comic-Con or Comicon. Some examples are the Comic Cons in Austin, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Emerald City (Seattle), Montreal, Ottawa, Philadelphia, Phoenix, New Orleans, New York, Ohio, and Toronto. This event should be called “San Diego Comic-Con” to distinguish it from all the other conventions that are no less worthy of attendance.

Actually… is called that way… just look at the icon… it says San Diego Comic-con… plus is the most important of all the Comic-cons.
